Connecting Your Own Domain Name to Your Store
The steps to redirect your www.yourbrand.com address to your IHASHOP store.
When your store is set up, it initially operates under a temporary publishing address. For stronger branding and easier customer access, we recommend connecting your own domain name.
If You Do Not Have a Domain Name
A domain name is purchased from a registrar for an annual fee. You may choose an extension such as .com or .com.tr. Company or personal documents may be required for a .com.tr domain. You can contact our support team for assistance with domain acquisition.
Steps to Connect Your Domain
- Submit a domain connection request through your ihashop.com account or by creating a support ticket. Clearly specify the domain you want to connect.
- You will receive the DNS records required for the connection. This usually involves pointing the A record to our server IP address and pointing the CNAME record for
wwwto the main domain. - Sign in to the management panel of the provider where you purchased the domain and add the supplied records in the DNS section.
- DNS changes may take a few hours to propagate worldwide. In rare cases, propagation can take 24–48 hours.
- Once the redirection is active, our team links the store to your domain and completes the installation of your SSL certificate.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have an old website. Will there be downtime during the transition?
With proper planning, downtime can be avoided. Do not change the current DNS settings until your new store is ready. Apply the redirection only after all preparations are complete, so the old website remains online until the transition.
Will my email accounts be affected?
A and CNAME records route web traffic. Your email service will not be affected as long as the MX records are not changed. Be careful not to delete or modify the existing MX records while editing DNS.
What should I do if I have multiple domains?
First, select the domain that will be used as the primary address. The other domains can be redirected to it. For SEO purposes, publishing the store through one primary domain is recommended.
