Submitting Your Products to Google and Automatic Synchronization

Learn how to start the first product submission, why the process is completed in batches, and how changes to prices, stock, and product information are automatically reflected in Google.

First Product Submission

After completing the Google Merchant Center connection, you can begin submitting your products to Google.

Follow these steps to start the first submission:

  1. Open SEO → Product Feeds in the IHASHOP administration panel.
  2. Confirm that the connection is active on the Google Merchant Center card.
  3. Click the “Submit Products” button.
  4. Product submission begins in the background.

You do not need to keep the page open after the submission starts. The process continues on the server even when you close the page.

Why Is the Submission Process Completed in Batches?

Submitting thousands of products to Google in a single operation may extend the processing time or cause a timeout on Google’s side.

In addition, a problem affecting a single product or product group could otherwise require the entire submission process to be restarted.

To prevent these issues, IHASHOP submits products to Google in batches of 300.

This approach provides the following benefits:

  • Large product catalogues can be submitted more reliably.
  • A problem in one product batch does not affect the others.
  • When the process is interrupted, it can continue from where it stopped.
  • The processing load on the server and Google services is balanced.

The system tracks the submission progress and automatically continues with the next product batch.

How Does Automatic Synchronization Work?

After the first product submission is completed, you do not need to click the “Submit Products” button again for every change.

IHASHOP’s scheduled task system checks changes in your store catalogue and automatically resubmits updated product information to Google.

The following information is synchronized automatically:

  • Product price
  • Sale price
  • Stock status
  • Product title
  • Product description
  • Product image
  • Brand information
  • Barcode or GTIN information
  • Category information

This allows the current product information in your store to be regularly transferred to Merchant Center.

When Are Price and Stock Changes Reflected in Google?

IHASHOP automatically submits product changes to Google. However, Google does not always publish the submitted information immediately.

It may take Merchant Center several hours to reprocess updated products.

For example, seeing the old price on Google five minutes after changing a product’s price is normal. This does not mean that synchronization has failed.

You should allow Google some time to process the new information and update the product record.

How Can You Monitor the Submission Status?

Information about the latest product submission is displayed under SEO → Product Feeds.

You can review the following details on this screen:

  • Time of the latest submission
  • Submission result
  • Whether the process has been completed
  • Product-level errors

When a technical or product-data-related issue occurs during submission, the relevant result may be reported in the panel.

“Submitted” Does Not Always Mean “Approved”

Successfully submitting products to Google does not mean that all products have been approved by Merchant Center.

Google may technically accept the submission request but identify errors while reviewing individual products.

For example, when 500 products are submitted:

  • 480 products may be approved.
  • 20 products may be rejected because of missing or incorrect information.

This does not mean that the entire submission has failed. The issue is related to the data quality of the rejected products.

An HTTP 200 response from Google also does not guarantee that every product has been accepted. A technically successful response may still include product-level errors.

How Can Rejected Products Be Reviewed?

Check the following two areas to review rejected or problematic products:

  1. The submission result and error list on the IHASHOP Product Feeds screen
  2. Google Merchant Center → Products → Diagnostics

The Merchant Center Diagnostics screen displays Google’s final assessment of your products.

You can use this screen to identify why products were rejected or which information is missing.

Which Products May Not Be Submitted?

IHASHOP may exclude or flag products that are highly likely to be rejected by Google.

A product may not be submitted in the following situations:

  • The product does not have a real product image.
  • Only a default or placeholder image is being used.
  • The barcode information is invalid.
  • Price information is missing.
  • Stock information is missing.

This control helps protect your Merchant Center account from large numbers of invalid product submissions.

Why Are Invalid Barcodes Not Submitted?

Google can validate product barcodes using mathematical check methods.

Submitting an invalid, incorrectly formatted, or fabricated barcode may cause the product to be rejected. An incorrect barcode may also cause the product to be matched with a record belonging to another brand or product.

For this reason, leaving the barcode field empty is safer than submitting an invalid barcode.

IHASHOP may identify invalid barcodes and prevent them from being submitted to Google.

Why Are Product Images Important?

Google Merchant Center expects products to be submitted with real product images.

A product may be excluded from submission when no image has been uploaded or when only the system’s default image is being used.

It is recommended to use a real image that accurately represents each product.

Requirements for Automatic Synchronization

After the first product submission, changes to prices, stock, and product information are automatically submitted through the scheduled task system.

The store owner does not need to start a manual submission after every product update.

However, the following fields must be kept accurate and up to date:

  • Product prices
  • Stock quantities
  • Product titles and descriptions
  • Product images
  • Brand information
  • Barcode or GTIN information
  • Category mappings

Maintaining accurate product information increases the likelihood of approval by Google.
