Connect to Google Merchant Center with One Click

Connect your IHASHOP store to Google Merchant Center without entering an API key or creating a Google Cloud project. Authorize access with your own Google account and complete the connection from a single screen.

Why Is the Google Merchant Center Connection Established with One Click?

Connecting to Google Merchant Center through traditional methods may require creating a project in Google Cloud, preparing an OAuth application, defining the required permissions, and manually entering the connection credentials into the e-commerce administration panel.

This process may require technical knowledge and can lead to connection problems when configured incorrectly.

IHASHOP manages the technical stages of the connection through its central infrastructure. As the store owner, you only need to sign in with the Google account associated with your Merchant Center account and approve the required access permissions.

You do not need to create a Google Cloud project, generate an API key, or enter OAuth credentials manually.

Requirements Before Connecting

Before starting the Google Merchant Center connection, make sure the following requirements are met:

  • An active Google Merchant Center account
  • A verified store domain
  • A Google account with access to the Merchant Center account
  • Prepared store products and basic business information

When you do not yet have a Merchant Center account, you must first create a free account through Google Merchant Center.

The Google account used during the connection must have access to the Merchant Center account you want to connect. When you authorize an account without the required permissions, the connection may appear to be completed even though product submission cannot be performed.

Connecting to Google Merchant Center Step by Step

1. Open the Product Feeds Screen

Sign in to the IHASHOP administration panel.

Then follow:

SEO → Product Feeds

2. Find the Google Merchant Center Card

Find the Google Merchant Center connection card on the Product Feeds screen.

When no connection has previously been established, the card displays a status indicating that the integration is not active.

3. Click the Connect with Google Button

Click the “Connect with Google” button on the Google Merchant Center card.

You will be redirected to Google’s secure account authorization screen.

4. Select the Correct Google Account

Select the Google account associated with your Merchant Center account.

When you use multiple Google accounts, make sure you select the correct one. The selected account must have the necessary permissions in Merchant Center.

5. Approve the Access Permissions

Review the permissions displayed by Google and approve the required access.

All necessary permissions must be granted for the connection to work correctly. When one of the required permissions is rejected, the connection may not be completed or product submission may not function properly.

6. Return to the Store Administration Panel

After approving the permissions, Google automatically redirects you back to the IHASHOP administration panel.

The connection has been completed successfully when the Google Merchant Center card displays the connected account number and an active connection status.

How Can You Confirm That the Connection Was Successful?

After the connection is completed, one or more of the following details may appear on the Google Merchant Center card:

  • Connected status information
  • Merchant Center account number
  • A status label showing that the connection is active
  • Options for starting product submission

When the card still displays “Not connected,” the authorization process may not have been completed.

Restart the connection and make sure all required permissions are approved on the Google authorization screen.

Is an API Key or Google Cloud Account Required?

No.

For the IHASHOP Google Merchant Center connection, the store owner does not need to perform the following technical operations:

  • Create a Google Cloud project
  • Prepare an OAuth application
  • Generate a client ID or client secret
  • Create an API key
  • Manually enter technical connection credentials
  • Regularly renew access credentials

The authorization process is managed through IHASHOP’s central connection infrastructure.

You only need to approve access using your own Google account.

Connection Duration and Automatic Renewal

Access credentials issued by Google may remain valid for a limited period for security reasons. However, this does not mean that the store owner must reconnect regularly.

IHASHOP automatically manages the authorization renewal processes required to keep the connection active.

As long as the connection status is displayed as “Connected” in the panel, your Merchant Center connection is considered active.

When Can the Connection Be Disconnected?

The Google Merchant Center connection may become invalid in the following situations:

  • You revoke IHASHOP’s access permission from your Google account
  • You use the “Disconnect” option in the IHASHOP panel
  • The Google account used for authorization loses access to Merchant Center
  • The Merchant Center account is closed or suspended
  • Google revokes access because of an account security issue

When the connection is disconnected, you can reconnect by following the same steps.

Disconnecting Google Merchant Center

To end the connection:

  1. Open SEO → Product Feeds.
  2. Find the Google Merchant Center card.
  3. Click the “Disconnect” option.
  4. Confirm the operation.

Disconnecting only removes the access authorization between IHASHOP and Merchant Center.

This operation does not:

  • Delete your Merchant Center account,
  • Close your Google account,
  • Automatically delete existing products from Merchant Center,
  • Make changes to the products in your store.

You can reconnect at any time.

Common Connection Problems

An Application Warning Appears on the Google Screen

Google may display a verification or access warning on the authorization screen.

Review the information carefully and make sure you are continuing only through the official IHASHOP connection process.

The connection cannot be completed unless the necessary permissions are approved.

Permission Was Granted, but the Panel Does Not Show the Account as Connected

This usually occurs when one of the required permissions was not approved on the Google authorization screen.

Click the “Connect with Google” button again and approve all requested permissions.

When the issue is caused by a temporary browser session or cache problem, refresh the page and check the connection status again.

The Connection Is Active, but Products Cannot Be Submitted

Check whether the Google account used for the connection has sufficient permissions in Merchant Center.

Open the user and access settings in Merchant Center and confirm that the relevant Google account is authorized.

A successful connection does not necessarily mean that the selected Google account has permission to perform every Merchant Center operation.

The Wrong Merchant Center Account Was Connected

A single Google account may have access to multiple Merchant Center accounts.

When the wrong account has been connected, disconnect the current integration and reconnect using a Google account authorized for the correct Merchant Center account.

What Should Be Done After Connecting?

After the Merchant Center connection has been completed, you can begin submitting your products to Google.

Before product submission and approval, it is recommended to check the following information:

  • Product title and description
  • Price information
  • Stock status
  • Real product images
  • Brand information
  • Barcode or other product identifiers
  • Google product category mapping
  • Merchant Center shipping settings
  • Verified and claimed store domain

Establishing the connection does not mean that products are automatically approved by Google. Submitted products are evaluated according to Google’s data quality requirements and policies.

Next Step

After completing the Google Merchant Center connection, continue with the “Submitting Your Products to Google and Automatic Synchronization” article.

This article explains how to start the first product submission, monitor submission status, and automatically synchronize price and stock changes with Google.
